It can be difficult to study Russian outside of the classroom context. We have compiled a number of resources and recommendations to work on your own, mostly online, to maintain and develop your knowledge of Russian at any stage.
Maintaining Russian on Your Own
UCLA Russian Flagship alumni Sydney Heller (2013) and Yelena Muratova (2016) created a guide with strategies for finding and working with Russian-language materials. Generally, they recommend Russian-language sites created for native speakers rather than those created for language students. The guide is organized into three categories: “Reading,” “Audio and Video,” and “Writing and Speaking.”
