On October 8 at 8 am PST, the Nazarbayev University Library and the Herman B. Wells Library at Indiana University will co-host an online poetry hour in honor of the 175th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbaev. The event will celebrate Abai's writing through readings and musical renditions of his work in Kazakh and in translation.

UCLA graduate James Nee ‘2020, will read his translation of Abai’s «Жүрегім, ойбай, соқпа енді!», translated through a Russian version, «О сердце моё, замри, застынь!», by S. Tleubaev.
