Contributing

To become a user/contributor of HELADA Dataverse

After logging in, navigate to HELADA Dataverse and click Contact (next to the envelope symbol)

Using the “Contact UCLA Dataverse Support" form, send a message to UCLA Dataverse Support asking them to add you as:

• a user if you only want to download data
• a contributor if you only want to upload data
• both a user and a contributor if you want to download and upload data

Once you are added you will receive a confirmation email. After receiving the email you can use the Dataverse.

To upload data

When signed in to the the HELADA dataverse you can upload all your documents and files, or just some of them. This includes anything created or saved in any text, word processing, or multimedia program.

To walk you through the process of data uploading, let’s create a new dataset from scratch.

• Click the Add Data + button and choose the New Dataset option from the drop-down list. This will open up a window where you can type in all metadata both required and optional.

Make sure that the Host Dataverse field specifies "Heritage Language Data Repository". If it does appear, there is no need to change anything. If the address bar displays a different dataverse name, please check the URL (www-address), which should be https://dataverse.ucla.edu/dataverse/helada. If you have landed on a different page, please correct the URL accordingly.
