Victoria Caudle

Victoria Caudle received a BA in Korean from SOAS, an MA in Korean Language and Literature (focus Modern Korean Literature) from Seoul National University, and an MA in Literary Translation from the University of East Anglia. Her translations of Korean literature have appeared in Korean Literature Now, Words Without Borders, and Nabillera. Her previous research has been on Korean New Women under Japanese colonialism, focused on the painter and author Na Hye Sŏk, and methods for translating non-binary and gender-fluid characters from Korean into English. Her current research involves looking into the understanding of race and fluctuating racial dynamics in Korean literature; examining, in particular how race began being constructed under Japanese occupation and the impact this period has had in the following decades.
