Chiara Pavone

Chiara Pavone received her B.A in Asian History from University of Bologna (2011) and her M.A. In Japanese Literature From Ca' Foscari University, Venice (2015). She is currently a Ph.D. Student in Asian Languages and Culture at UCLA, where she works on modern and contemporary disaster literature. Her research interests include issues of literary and historical canonization and representation, contemporary politics and nationalism. Her current project analyzes imaginations of time and space in post-Fukushima literature and criticism, emphasizing their intersections with political discourse and the chronotope(s) of the nation.
