Common Confusions

A Performative Reading Featuring Tawada Yōko, Suga Keijirō, and Matthew Fargo

On March 29, the UCLA Department of Asian Languages and Cultures will host a performative reading featuring the celebrated author Tawada Yōko, who writes in both Japanese and German; poet, critic, and scholar Suga Keijirō; and Tokyo-based programmer and creative engineer Matthew Fargo.

Titled "Common Confusions," this innovative, dazzling event weaves together fiction and poetry by Franz Kafka, Tawada, and Suga against a visual backdrop created using programming specially created by Fargo.
