    Black Lives Matter: Global Perspectives

The UCLA International Institute joins Chancellor Block in strongly condemning the racist violence in Buffalo – one of the latest of a growing number of hate crimes in this country. We are equally appalled by the Laguna Woods shooting. We renew our commitment to fostering transcultural understanding, as well as informed, discerning and global understandings of social and historical processes that have shaped the world we live in, and to working toward a society where diversity and difference are valued and respected, so that all people can feel safe and thrive.
