IUP is the premier U.S.-sponsored Chinese language program intended for students who aspire to truly advanced competence.
“It is simply the best . . . bar none.”
- Professor Ted Huters, UCLA coordinator of the Inter-University Program, will lead the introduction and orientation, introduce the program, explain what it can accomplish, and answer your questions.

In its Academic Year, Semster Option, and 8-week Summer Intensive Program, the IUP's mission is to raise your Chinese language proficiency to a level at which you can function independently in a professional or academic career. Recent IUP graduates who have chosen to pursue careers in China have proven that their IUP-acquired linguistic skills have enabled them to succeed in such areas as business consulting, management, public relations, law, education and journalism. Prerequisites for admission include the equivalent of two academic years of college-level Mandarin.
All programs are located on the Tsinghua University campus in Beijing. The Tsinghua University campus is the largest in all of China and now has some of the most modern facilities nationwide. With sections of ancient gardens and large expanses of lawns and trees, the Tsinghua campus is also one of the nation's most beautiful. IUP is housed in the Humanities and Social Sciences North Building (Wen Bei Lou) in the very center of campus.
