Submission of an article to JUSUR implies that the article has not been published and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Copyright is assigned to the Regents of the University of California in the interest of the authors. Initially, articles should be provided in hardcopy format only.
Articles must be in English, double-spaced, and should not exceed 12,000 words including endnotes. All articles must use the transliteration format of the International Journal of Middle East Studies.
Authors must adhere to the accepted stylistic conventions contained in The Chicago Manual of Style, particularly regarding endnote format.
Editorial decisions are typically made in February or March every year.
