The Southern California chapter of Asia Society held their Annual Gala at the Skirball Cultural Center on Sunday, May 7, 2017. The gala recognized the vibrant and diverse Asian immigrant community in the United States. This year’s honorees include the cast and producer of Fresh off the Boat; Adrian Zecha of Aman Resorts; philanthropists David Nazarian and Angella Nazarian; and business visionary Donald Tang.
Special thanks to John Long Family Foundation for inviting Asia Pacific Center staff Min Zhou (Director), Elizabeth Leicester (Executive Director), and Aaron Miller (Assistant Director) to the event. Also attending the gala were Cindy Fan (Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement); Chris Erickson (Senior Associate Vice Provost and Director of the International Institute); Gail Kligman (Associate Vice Provost, International Institute); and Purnima Mankekar (Professor of Gender Studies, Asian American Studies and Film, Television, and Digital Media).
