Join the Rothman Family Institute for Food Studies for a special book talk with UCLA History Professor Dr. Lauren ‘Robin’ Derby. Celebrate her newly published work Bêtes Noires: Sorcery as History in the Haitian-Dominican Borderlands at El Bacano, a LA Times 101 Best Restaurant.

Dr. Derby will be joined by special guests Martha M. Arguello, Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Pitzer College, and Génesis Lara, Assistant Professor of Chicano/Latino Studies at the University of California, Irvine.
