In this talk, Dr. Tamara Kay explores how Sesame Workshop and its international partners co-create local versions of Sesame Street through a process of cultural coproduction. By aligning diverse interests and exchanging complex knowledge, these transnational teams build shared meanings that allow Sesame Street to thrive in over fifty countries. Dr. Kay shows how this model fosters legitimacy, navigates cultural difference, and sustains global educational impact in an era of heightened cultural politicization.
