Over the past sixteen years, Professor Luz María De la Torre has taught the Quechua/Kichwa language at UCLA. Together with her students, she has organized events almost every year to highlight this language and culture, which constitutes the heritage of the ancient nations from the Andes.
In this celebration, we also want to pay tribute to the women of First Nations for being symbols of resistance, strength, and the continuity of culture and life.
We invite you to join us to enjoy a sample of Andean celebrations, as well as to experience traditional Andean food, music, and speakers.
