A key goal of the 1910-1920 Mexican revolution was to create a state-sponsored universal healthcare system. First steps were taken during Lázaro Cárdenas’s administration (1924-1930), but subsequently, universal coverage was never achieved. Throughout his election campaign, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s (AMLO) promised to offer the long-deferred free universal healthcare. Our webinar will assess of the state of Mexican healthcare AMLO encountered in 2018 on entering office and the extent to which he is managing to fulfill his promise of healthcare for all.
