At the upcoming 2018 International Conference on Heritage/ Community Languages we will be presenting the Russ Campbell Young Scholar Award in Heritage Language Education. The award was established in 2014 in honor of Professor Russell Campbell, whose work was instrumental in launching the field of heritage language studies.
Our aim in creating this award is to recognize outstanding scholarship by two individuals who are currently working on a dissertation, or who have filed one within the last 5 years, that focuses on topics related to heritage language. Five hundred dollars will be presented to each winner.
To apply for this award, you need to:
- Submit an abstract to present a paper or panel at the 2018 International Conference on Heritage/Community Languages by clicking here.
- Send a sample of your writing, such as a dissertation chapter or a paper, and a CV to chik@international.ucla.edu.
Submission deadlines for these materials is December 15, 2017.
The award will be announced at the conference. In order to receive the award you need to be in attendance.
