Dr. Marwa Maziad is a non-resident scholar with the Middle East Institute's Defense and Security Program, a visiting scholar at the University of Washington's Jackson School of International Studies, and a senior fellow at American University's Center for Israel Studies in Washington, D.C. An Egyptian-American, Dr. Maziad has held academic positions at Qatar University and Northwestern University in Qatar. She is the co-editor of The Arab Gulf States and the West: Perceptions and Realities – Opportunities and Perils (Routledge, 2019). Dr. Maziad is a frequent political commentator on television and radio, including NPR, BBC Arabic, France24, and CNN International.
