The film chronicles the efforts of members of these groups to mobilize youth. Picking up digital cameras and raising $50,000 while crisscrossing the country as Yale graduate students in 2004, Dr. Jonathan Kidd and Dr. Sonya Winton, UCLA Institute of American Cultures Postdoctoral Fellow 2007-08, set out to prove using investigative media that some of the fundamental aspects of American democracy -- education, organization, and participation -- remained alive and well within America's youth demographic.
