In 2009, 13 teachers traveled to Morocco with the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (GPA)program at UCLA African Studies Center. Following their trip, they developed Curriculum Modules that they would use in their classrooms.
In the summer of 2009, the UCLA African Studies Center Fulbright-Hays GPA program took 13 teachers to Morroco. Project participants received intensive Arabic language instruction with seminars on Moroccan culture and society supplemented by site visits and daily interaction with the local population to create a multidimensional, dynamic learning environment. The project was based in the iconic Moroccan city of Fes, with organized excursions to Agadir, Marrakesh, Meknes, and other places that illustrate the multicultural diversity of Morocco.
