Loy Krathong Festival

UCLA Ethnomusicology Archive Courtyard

The Thai Loy Krathong Festival is a traditional celebration of the river spirit held under the full moon. People make beautiful Krathong (flower offerings) to float on the river, asking for forgiveness, happiness, and prosperity. We celebrate Loy Krathong at UCLA with live music and dance performances, a beauty pageant, a Thai pop DJ and dancing, and many Thai cultural activities and games. Please join us for a fun evening.
