The Center for European and Russian Studies hosts a quarterly graduate student lecture to be followed by a welcome mixer for graduate students to kick off the academic year. The lecture by Anna Bonazzi (Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies) will include a presentation, time for Q&A, culminating in an informal mixer for students of different disciplines with a shared interest in Europe and/or Russia to connect. This event will be held in Bunche Hall Room 10383 on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 4 PM. Graduate students and faculty of all disciplines with an interest in Europe and Russia area studies are encouraged to attend.

About the Speaker

Anna Bonazzi is a Ph.D. candidate in the German section of UCLA’s ELTS Department. Her dissertation work focuses on the oral history of migrants and refugees in Germany from the 1940s to the present based on the computational analysis of digital interview archives. Her research interests include contemporary media and culture primarily in the German speaking areas; memory studies; issues of migration and multilingualism; and digital humanities (text analysis, visualization, corpus linguistics.
