The Center for European and Russian Studies (CERS) has established a Ukraine Fund for students and scholars and, in partnership with other UCLA departments, is disseminating information about UCLA initiatives designed to support UCLA students and provide visiting positions at UCLA for scholars directly affected by the war in Ukraine.

CERS fundraising and collaborative efforts are directed by a committee of UCLA faculty:

CURRENT INITIATIVES

 • Center for European and Russian Studies - Emergency Grants for UCLA Students
    Supporting students impacted by the war

  Alan D. Leve Center for Jewish Studies - Emergency Visiting Graduate Researcher Fellowship
    Supporting a scholar working in any area of Jewish Studies

  • Center for European and Russian Studies – Visiting Scholar Grants (pending funding)
    Supporting scholars working in any are of European and Russian Studies

 UCLA Metabolism Research Theme
    Targeting Ukrainian scientists interested in Life Sciences or Medicine

  • Research Group of Prof. Mayank Mehta at the W.M. Keck Center for Neurophysics at UCLA
    1-2 year support for part-time or full-time graduate students or postdocs to do research in learning and memory
