UCLA was proud to join the U.S. Departments of State and Education along with other universities across the nation to celebrate International Education Week 2016 (November 14-18) in recognition of international education and exchange worldwide. To conclude a week of festivities at UCLA, Chancellor Gene Block and Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement Cindy Fan hosted a "UCLA Global Conversation: Celebrating International Education Week 2016" in the Powell Library Rotunda on campus. The event featured a keynote on "Why International Education Matters Now" by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and UCLA Professor of Geography, Jared Diamond. Attendees included students, alumni, consuls general, friends, campus leadership, faculty and staff.
