Morad Tahbaz graduated from Colgate University in 1977 with a degree in Liberal Arts and from Columbia University with an MBA in 1983. His passion for wildlife and nature began at age 9 when he first subscribed to National Geographic. It has continued to this day. He is regular donor to many international conservation foundations such as the Wildlife Conservation Society, Wild Sheep Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation as well as the Cat Specialist Group of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). He co-founded the Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation in Iran in 2008 and founded the Persian Wildlife Foundation in the United States in 2010. In January of 2014, together with the UK based Iran Heritage Foundation he organized a symposium on Iran’s environment at the Royal Geographical Society. What initially started as an interest in the conservation of Iran’s biodiversity has now expanded to include the country’s broader environmental challenges.
