Join the Center for Chinese Studies and the International & Comparative Law Program at UCLA Law to celebrate Pulitzer Price-winning correspondent Ian Johnson's new book. SPARKS: China's Underground Historians and Their Battle for the Future gives a sweeping, 75-year history of underground history writing in China - in other words, Chinese public intellectuals from the Mao to the Xi eras who challenge the party on its most hallowed ground: its control of history. The talk will touch on domestic and global implications.
