Emily Poghossian

Emily is a recent graduate of UCLA, where she currently serves as Program Assistant for the Promise Armenian Institute. During her time in university, she served as a peer grader for undergraduate courses in her department as well as a lead developmental and copy editor for an undergraduate research journal in the humanities, arts, and social sciences. She also held the position of Student Coordinator for an anthropology colloquium presenting postdoctoral and faculty-level research regarding the dynamics of culture, power, inequality, and social change in the contemporary world. Outside of the Institute, Emily works as a legal assistant in the field of immigration law. Additionally, she volunteers her time as an intern for the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (LIPG), analyzing and investigating the development of ongoing humanitarian crises as well as the factors that contribute to the forced displacement of persecuted peoples.
