Tereza Hovhannisyan is a lecturer of Eastern Armenian language in the department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA. After receiving her MA in teaching Armenian as a Second Language, she started teaching Eastern Armenian in various organizations having students from over 30 countries around the world. Her professional fields are teaching Eastern Armenian to people with Eastern Armenian language heritage (whose language of education was not Armenian), to Western Armenian speakers, and those learning it as a foreign language.
She is a co-author of the “Armenian Practical Dictionary for Foreigners, A1+ level” project. Her current research is focused on connectivity of Armenian words; the classification of the Armenian vocabulary and grammar into different language levels based on CEFR principles.
