Could you speak about your career and how it has progressed since graduating from UCLA?

At UCLA, I studied Economics and International Development Studies, giving me an analytical foundation and global perspective. After graduating, I discovered my passion for marketing through a job in affiliate and digital marketing in Los Angeles. This led me to pursue an MSc in Strategic Marketing at Imperial. I now work in e-commerce marketing, combining data, creativity and consumer insight to build campaigns for a diverse UK customer base.

What would you say to a UCLA student who is planning on having an international career?

Be brave, stay curious, and say yes to opportunities that take you outside your comfort zone. At UCLA, explore beyond your major, join clubs, meet people from different backgrounds, and pursue things you genuinely enjoy. My own path took me from economics to marketing and eventually to London. An international career is about being open to different people, cultures and ways of thinking and working, and bringing those perspectives with you.

How have you navigated cultural differences between your home country, UCLA, and where you work now?

Growing up in India, I was surrounded by a familiar and close-knit environment, so moving to the US for UCLA was my first step into the unknown. Being surrounded by different cultures and perspectives taught me to listen first, question my assumptions, and adapt how I communicate and connect with people. Moving to London continued that journey, as I learned to navigate a new culture and way of working. Each experience has shaped how I collaborate today, allowing me to bring different perspectives together while staying grounded in where I come from.
