Radio has been through many crises. The influence of radio diminishes every time a new medium is born, but radio is still an influence and it hasn't disappeared. Competing or compromising with new forms of media, radio has continued to evolve. Even with the development and adoption of cinema, television, and the internet, radio has remained an integral part of broadcasting in the present day.

There are currently many factors that hinder the development of radio. One major factor is the gap between the existing audience and a new generation of listeners. Other factors include broadcasting regulations and a simple profit structure. Regardless, radio will find a way to continue developing, as it always has. However, there are still some questions that should be answered. How is radio changing in the world of smartphones? Can podcasts be a successful business in Korea? How did YouTube change the radio? In this talk, Mr. Huh will seek to answer these questions and dive deep into the present day struggles of the radio.

*Event is exclusive to CKS Visiting Scholars, graduate/undergraduate students, and faculty
