As interest in the Ukrainian war has risen, people around the world are being informed about the war situation through various news sources. If so, through what channels do journalists cover the war situation and write an article? Because war news is important to international public opinion and morale of soldiers, there are cases where only information that is favorable to the country is announced. Fake news used for psychological tactics and propaganda is included, so people need to understand it well and consume the news. War news is a distorted truth and there are many factors that can lead news readers to be deceived. Therefore, it is also important to develop a better view of war news.
Mr. Kim once participated as a war correspondent in the Libyan civil war in 2012. It is very difficult to go to the battlefield to report and make news because one must risk their life. Through this colloquium, Mr. Kim will share how he went to Libya during the Libyan civil war, covered it, and experienced the war situation. He will also introduce how journalists are doing their part in the Ukrainian war.
