This conference has been conceived in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Tokyo International Women’s War Tribunals on Japan’s Military Sexual Slavery. However, this conference is not only about the legacy of “Comfort Women” but is also an occasion to think together with scholars and practitioners on the question of peace building and reconciliation in the conflict-affected communities/nations, to seek ways to help prevent, recover, rebuild, and even empower women victims of sexualized violence during and after the war. The conference is held in collaboration and with support from the Asian Studies Center at Seoul National University in Korea. To participate in both conference sessions, please register separately.
