Michelle is earning her bachelor’s degrees in Global Studies and Portuguese alongside a master's degree in Latin American Studies. She first became interested in studying globalization and social development in Latin America when she taught English in Brazil after high school. Michelle wrote an undergraduate research thesis about affirmative action in Brazilian universities and continued to study the issue under a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship in summer 2013. In the future, Michelle hopes to work for an international humanitarian aid organization. Michelle enjoys painting, reading,traveling, and visiting museums in her leisure time.
