Statement from the UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center on the Unfolding Israel–Hamas War

The UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies unequivocally condemns the horrific terrorist attack that Hamas carried out in Israel on Saturday, October 7, and the abduction of many Israeli civilians, including children and elderly people. We express our deepest condolences to the many people who have lost family and friends, which includes our own colleagues in the Israel Studies academic community. During this dark time, we believe that education is all the more important, and we will do all we can to provide this to the UCLA community, the local community, and to everyone around the world who is witnessing the unfolding war. To that end, we will share our expertise as much as possible in the difficult days to come.
