A video interview with Murat Yildiz, PhD candidate in History
Posted by: Center for Near Eastern StudiesMurat C. Yildiz is a Ph.D. student in the UCLA Department of History. His research interests center on physical culture, the body, cleanliness, and hygiene in Ottoman Istanbul during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In the summer of 2007 and 2010 he received a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship to study Turkish and Ottoman in Turkey.
