Program Summary

The Centre of Asian Studies within the University of Hong Kong is offering a fellowship tenable from as soon as possible, under the rubric of the Centre's "Bridging China and India: Hong Kong as the Key Link" Project (the China-India Project). The Project is sponsored by the University of Hong Kong Foundation for Educational Development and Research and its special interests include China-India economic links, strategic relations and the Chinese and Indian diasporas.

The Fellow will be based at the Centre of Asian Studies in Hong Kong for the period of the fellowship, which will be 12 months in the first instance. In addition to continuing with his/her own research, the fellow will be required to provide administrative assistance to the research activities of the China-India Project.


The Fellowship will be available to a scholar (who will preferably already hold a Ph.D.) who is engaged in research on some aspect of China-Indian relations.


The Fellow will be provided with an annual honorarium of approximately HK$210,000 (HK$7.8 = US$1) to cover passage and living expenses in Hong Kong.
