An op-ed in today's Los Angeles Times about the increasing divide between white "traditionalists" and white "progressives" in the U.S. highlighted research and a new book by Russell Jacoby, UCLA professor-in-residence of history, that argue that the world's most severe and violent conflicts arise within nations rather than between nations.
