Program and Scholarship Applications with Deadlines, 2013-2014

If a deadline for 2014-15 has not been announced we've left the 2013-14 deadline to give you an idea of the timeframe.


Flagship Year in St. Petersburg

Deadline: January 15, 2014

Note: ACTR must receive your online application and any supporting documents sent separately (e.g., letters of reference and transcripts), by the deadline. Applications require letters of reference, personal statements, and other supporting documents, so please read ACTR’s website early and often to be prepared.  For information on how to apply and a link to the online application, go here.

ACTR Summer 2012 Program in Moscow or St. Petersburg

Deadline: February 15, 2014

Critical Language Scholarship

A fully-funded State Department summer program in Russia (Ufa and Kazan) for students who have completed at least two years of language study.

Deadline: November 15, 2013

Scholarships to Support Flagship Study

Fund for Education Abroad

Deadline: deadline will be set in the fall; the last deadline was January 18, 2013

FLAS (Foreign Language Area Studies)

Deadline: February 19, 2014
Note: this is for students who will be on campus for 2012-2013 or plan summer study abroad

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2014 for programs starting between July 15 and October 15, 2014.

This scholarship is for undergraduates of limited financial means who are or will be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of their study abroad. For information, visit the Gilman Scholarship website here.

Boren Scholarship

For information on the scholarship and how to apply, go here.
2013-14 deadlines:
1. Campus deadline: applications must be submitted to the UCLA representative for Boren Scholarships (Sergio Broderick-Villa, in the UCLA International Education Office) before they are submitted to Boren, sometime between  January 24-27, 2014.
2. Deadline for campus representative to submit your application:
February 5, 2014.

Deadline to Register the Flagship Year Program for Planned Academic Leave 

Registration of the program may be required to apply your financial aid to the Flagship year in St. Petersburg and to qualify for Planned Academic Leave.
deadline: last year's deadline was March 15, 2013
