Flagship Programs
Flagship Programs, developed under the National Flagship Language Program, are part of the National Security Education Program's commitment to advance language proficiency in languages critical to national security.
The programs address the urgent and growing need for American students across disciplines to advance to academic/professional levels of competency as defined by Interagency Language Roundtable 3/3+ or American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Superior/Distinguished levels.
UCLA was among the first round of institutions to be awarded a Flagship Program. It is currently the site of a Flagship Program in Russian.
