Academic English/ESL
In the Summer months, the English as a Second Language Courses at UCLA are open to both currently registered UCLA students and visiting students. Instruction is delivered by ESL lecturers and experienced graduate students from UCLA. All instructors have training in teaching English as a second language; most have extensive national and international teaching experience. The courses cover a wide range of skills and skill levels for improving academic English including writing, reading, listening, and oral presentation skills. Enrollment in these courses during the academic year (September through June) is restricted to currently matriculated UCLA students only. During these months, individuals not currently registered at UCLA who want to improve their English may contact The American Language Center through UCLA Extension at (310) 825-9068.
