Beyond Borders:

This five-day K-12 professional development workshop will examine the historical, sociocultural, political and economic forces associated with migration to and within the Americas, with a focus on Latin America. The workshop will feature interdisciplinary presentations and discussions on patterns of migration and a variety of related topics, from immigration policies to the diverse experiences of men, women and children. Experts will introduce various texts and primary sources to shed light on how migration has shaped Latin American cultures and societies from ancient times through the early 21st century.
