Meir Yaish is Senior Lecturer, Department of Sociology & Anthropology, University of Haifa, and Visiting Professor, University of Toronto.  He serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Research Committee 28 on Social Stratification and Mobility.  Professor Yaish is the author of Class Mobility Trends in Israeli Society, 1974-1991 (Edwin Mellen Press 2004).  He earned his doctorate in Sociology from the University of Oxford in 1998.
