Jonathan Gribetz is a PhD candidate in History at Columbia University.  His dissertation, "Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the 'Arab-Zionist' Encounter: A Study in Mutual Perceptions in Late Ottoman Palestine," will be completed this spring.  He holds an M.A. and an M.Phil in History from Columbia University, and an MSt with distinction in Modern Jewish Studies from the University of Oxford.  His areas of specialization are modern Jewish history, the history of Zionism and the Yishuv, and nationalism in the Arab world.  He has also studied at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and at Middlebury College, and has delivered papers at numerous Israel and Jewish studies conferences. Mr. Gribetz graduated AB Summa Cum Laude from Harvard University, May 2002.
