About the Guest

Dr. Uri Resnick is an Israeli career diplomat and an associate member of the Federmann Center for the Study of Rationality at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He is currently the director of Policy Planning and Net Assessment in the Bureau of Policy Planning at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as a policy advisor to Israel's Defense Minister (2017-2019) and Foreign Minister (2010-2012), as Director of International Security Affairs in the Policy and Political-Military Bureau in the Israeli Ministry of Defense (2017-2019), as Deputy Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles (2012-2014) and Deputy Head of Mission at the Israeli embassies in Bulgaria (2005-2008) and Senegal (2003-2005).

 Resnick holds a Ph.D. in international relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He teaches game theory, strategic planning and public diplomacy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. He is the author of Dynamics of Asymmetric Territorial Conflict: the Evolution of Patience (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2013), and has authored numerous articles in conflict studies.
