CERS awards $500 prizes for first articles authored by UCLA graduate students and recent alumni in the humanities, social sciences, and professional disciplines. Articles must be single-authored and published or accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021. Students enrolled for any length of time during the 2020-2021 academic year are eligible to be nominated.

Nominations should include the student’s short CV, a copy of the article, link to the journal or acceptance letter, and letter of endorsement from the student’s principal advisor. Students may nominate themselves or be nominated by their advisor.

Materials should be sent to CERS Executive Director Liana Grancea.
All materials except the letter of endorsement should be combined into a single PDF file.
