Mike Shuster is an award-winning diplomatic correspondent and former roving foreign correspondent for NPR News. Shuster covered issues of nuclear non-proliferation and weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, and the Pacific Rim. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Burkle Center.

David Kaye is a Clinical Professor of Law at University of California, Irvine. His scholarship and teaching focus on public international law, especially international human rights law, international humanitarian law, accountability for violations of human rights, and the law governing the use of force.

Daniel Treisman is Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. His work focuses on the politics and political economy of Russia, and on comparative political economy (in particular, the determinants of good government and the politics of macroeconomic policy).

Gail Kligman is Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center of European and Eurasian Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work focuses on comparative/historical sociology, ethnography, gender, socialism and postsocialism, trafficking and migration.
