Overview of the Undergraduate International Relations Society

Welcome to the Undergraduated International Relations Society! UIRS aims to engage the UCLA community by providing a forum for communication about various issues of foreign affairs. Specific goals of the group include: publishing, educating, networking, and leadership. We hope to offer our members numerous opportunities to get involved and make a difference.

Founded by interns of the Burkle Center for International Relations, the group's first mission was to establish an online journal of foreign affairs at UCLA titled The Generation. It offers our members an opportunity to be published and present their work in a larger scale. We will host research papers, op-eds, campus-wide event coverage, reviews of international opportunities, and more. Beyond that, the group hopes to network with similarly themed student groups in order to build an association of students interested in global affairs. We intend to assist with the various programs and lectures already in place by student groups and departments so as to help build synergy between them. Members of UIRS will have the opportunity to be a part of something unique and will help shape the future structure of our organization. Join us at our upcoming meetings -- date, time, and location to be determined.
