Spend Your Summer in South Africa
Would you like to visit the island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for almost 30 years? Or trek across a battlefield where Britain suffered its greatest colonial defeat at the hands of a Zulu army? Or view wildlife in a game park? Then join our History program in Southern Africa. This program is for serious and mature students, ready to learn and with a taste for adventure. This program places special emphasis on the Western Cape, where Dutch slavery ruled for 200 years, the Eastern Cape, birthplace of Nelson Mandela, KwaZulu Natal, where Shaka’s mighty Zulu empire held the British at bay until the end of the 19th century, and the Witwatersrand, industrial heartland of modern South Africa.
Directed by Professor William Worger, Department of History, UCLA. For more information, contact Summer Sessions at: email@example.com. Financial aid is available to qualified UCLA students. All other students should inquire about financial aid at their home institution.
