Academic Year 2007-08 Language Instruction:
Come study Swahili or Yoruba with us!
The courses immerse students in the languages and diverse cultures of Africa through authentic and contemporary materials including movies, music, literature, and online resources.
If you are not a UCLA student, you may enroll through UCLA Extension.
Summer 2008 Language Instruction:
If you are interested in taking Summer Intensive Language courses, plans are being finalized to offer classes in Amharic, Swahili, Yoruba, and Zulu during Summer Sessions 2008. Partial scholarships may be available for qualifying students.
Summer African Language courses at UCLA offer the equivalent of one academic year of language instruction in eight weeks. Each course immerses students in the language and its cultures through authentic and contemporary materials including movies, music, literature, online resources, and LA's diaspora communities.
