Summer Teacher Training Workshops 2006
The African Studies Center, Latin American Center, and Center for Near Eastern Studies at the UCLA International Institute offer two exciting professional development opportunities for teachers in Summer 2006.

- Middle East - United States Intersections: Integrating the Middle East Into American Politics, Society, and Culture
- African - Latin American Intersections: Cultural Synergies through the Centuries
10-day workshop, July 22 - August 3, 2006
(9 am-4 pm daily, excluding weekends except first Saturday)
4 LAUSD multicultural general salary credits or 4 University Extension quarter-units.
Most suitable to middle school and high school history and social studies teachers
The programs combine presentations and discussions of content, pedagogy, and resources; readings; cinema and multimedia; informational technology, library and field studies; and curriculum development assignment.
$150 fee includes registration and accreditation, parking, refreshments, UCLA library card, and ample educational materials.
