Description
The University of Washington seeks to appoint two Postdoctoral Fellows /Teaching Associates in Asian Studies to begin September 15, 2002. The successful candidates, besides pursuing individual research, will teach during one quarter in one large, lower division undergraduate course in Asian Studies and during another quarter, they will be asked to develop a course in their own specialty. Throughout the year, fellows will participate in a faculty-fellow seminar on teaching Asian studies. Candidates in all disciplines and regional specialties will be considered, but those with a specialty in Japanese history or society, or in South/Southeast Asian studies will be preferred. There is a possibility of renewal for the academic year, 2003-2004.
Eligibility
Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent by time of appointment.
Stipend
Stipend for the academic year is $35,000.

Preference will be given to applications received before 8 March 2002.
