Application and for more information

Applicants can use either of two methods to apply for a JSTA long-term fellowship.

* Applicants may apply through the NIH using Application Form PHS 416-1 (Rev. 12/98) which is available on the website. Click on "special instructions" for information required to complete the application form. Applications of scientific merit will be forwarded to the JST for funding considerations. An Award Letter through JISTEC will be sent to successful applicants.

* Applicants may apply through the Host Research Institute using STA Form 1 (Form for Contacting Prospective Host Institute). Applicants should send inquiries directly to the participating institutes. The institute will screen the applicant, and if willing to pursue the application, request pertinent documents and information. These will be sent along with a letter of recommendation to JST through JISTEC. Applications are submitted through this process to JST twice a year, usually in January and June.
